One of my favorite ideas in the Hawthorne didn’t actually come from us – it came from the homeowners. They loved having a beautiful glass front door but wanted a little more privacy from the great room whenever someone stopped by. Their solution was adding French doors between the foyer and the main living area.

It’s one of those simple ideas that changes how the home lives. The foyer still feels bright and welcoming, but everyday life doesn’t have to stop every time the doorbell rings. It’s a great reminder that some of the best design ideas come from listening to how our homeowners actually want to live.
